Over the last few weeks, I’ve been talking to the CODE_n UK finalists. With less than a week to go before David Cameron joins Angela Merkel for the official opening ceremony of CeBIT, we take a look at another of our UK finalists, Massive Analytic.
Spending time with George Frangou, artificial intelligence and data analytics veteran and Massive Analytic founder, I was able to get an insight into what makes them a contender at CODE_n. George founded Massive Analytic in 2010 and it has already been awarded a SMART innovation grant by the UK Technology Strategy Board and was recognised as a Top 20 finalist for the Microsoft BizSpark program. According to George, the company’s flagship product Oscar Bao is the only Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), fully featured Business Analytics Optimisation (BAO) suite for big data. With Capital Markets being our primary focus in GFT’s London office I was especially excited to hear about its capabilities and hope we have the opportunity to work together.
Oscar Bao can provide speed and intelligence in a trading environment. Using streaming, indexing and integration capabilities it takes feeds from financial markets, securities and commodities; social media; news feeds providing narrative content on the political, economic, societal and environmental situation e.g. weather; real-time news from different kinds of databases, live futures pits and pulls them together and enter it in a virtual streaming data warehouse.
The resulting big data is analysed with patented artificial precognition. It provides a unique combination of stats analytics, artificial intelligence and rules-based inference engine for scenario planning and automatic price pattern recognition and alignment with mathematical indicators to indicate possible future price movement with a range of most likely to least likely measures of certainty.
I can certainly see that Massive Analytic lives up to its name.
Alongside other CODE_n finalists, Massive Analytic will be joining GFT, Clemens Weisshaar, EY, Google and Salesforce.com at CeBIT from the 10th until the 14th of March. We look forward to seeing you there to find out more.
